Render to God the Things that are God’s

Greetings my brothers and sisters in Christ.  May The Lord bless you and pour His grace upon you and your loved ones in abundance.

There are many good and positive aspects to the Internet in addition to many pitfalls.  One of them is that it provides us the opportunity to communicate God’s Word to you, our ministry visitors.

Today we want to speak to you about something that has troubled us for some time and is partially tied to the spiritual message heading above.  The full quote is taken from Matthew 22.21 (RSV), “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”  It was spoken by Jesus to the Pharisees as they attempted to put him to the test.

Instead of the Pharisees, today we find that there are many others in positions of power who, while espousing to be followers of Jesus, are quite hypocritical in what they preach and what their actions portray.  Jesus life provides one example after another that he was primarily concerned that we love one another and help our fellow man whenever possible.  He did not teach us to take advantage of those who may be of lesser stature in society.  Hypocrisy enters into the picture when those who take advantage of their position lie and tell us they are doing the things they do because of their Christian beliefs.  Nothing could be further from the truth!  Their actions have nothing to do with Christ or his teachings.

Unfortunately, many of these people are our political leaders of today and are the reason for much of the unnecessary turmoil in this country and around the world.  They are only interested in their own agendas and not God’s people.  DO NOT be lulled by what they tell you.  Their actions speak much louder than their words.  Know what Christ taught us and that what these people are spreading has more to do with Caesar and nothing to do with Jesus Christ, in spite of their proclamations.

May God bless you and your loved ones.

Your humble servant in Christ.
